Day 7 On Our Way Home, January 18, 2012

Up early and to the airport by 5:30 AM. After checking in we shopped for a few more souvenirs. We had a beautiful trip over the Carribean looking at all the islands and reefs and patterns in the water. We flew directly over Hispanola.

We had a 7 hour layover in Miami. Customs was a breeze! Lunch and supper there with time to buy a few more souvenirs. It was very cold in the airport and we had packed our warmer clothes! Spent most of the time reading since there was no free wifi.

Our flight to Chicago was also uneventful with a short layover. Then on to Indy, we were almost there about 5 minutes away from seeing Roger and I caught my heel on a bump in the hall in the airport and down I went!
It was so good to see him!

We gathered our bags and went home – very tired but happy.

This was an experience of a lifetime. We were in a different country. A different culture and traffice drove on the opposite side of the road. We had very different food from what we were used to. But it was very good. The language was similar – English spoken by all, but their own dialect made it hard to understand when they were talking to each other. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we felt safe and taken care of at all times.
